Inspect changes and mastered records
Find record history and contributing information when investigating a changed or mastered value.
Use the web application
Open the entity’s Records view and select a record. Use Data for business values, Quality for findings, Audit for recorded changes, and Metadata for processing information. See Inspect a record.
A configured data view can change the record title, list columns, summaries, sections, and field layout. It changes presentation, not the underlying dataset or record values.
Investigate an unexpected value
- Compare the current value with the contributing records.
- Decide whether unrelated subjects were grouped or the configured precedence chose the wrong contributor.
- For an unmerged grouping problem, use disconnect. For an incorrect merge, first check the merge undo conditions; only after recovery can you separate the restored records.
- For a precedence problem, validate a revised merger on representative data before applying it broadly.
- Re-read the record after the corrective action and after the next scheduled flow that can affect it.
Do not delete or repeatedly merge records as an exploratory recovery method. If the correct corrective action is unclear, preserve the identifiers and escalate through the approved support path.
